We are pleased to now be stocking this pair of high quality seats that come with a choice of coloured piping and stitching. These extremely comfortable bucket seats have been designed exclusively for the GBS Zero GT and are now available from Kit Spares.
Today Mr John Sands came to GBS to look at his Robin Hood 2B Chassis that has just been powder coated for him. John bought his 2B kit many years ago to build himself, but has never full filled his dream. The GBS workshop team are now in the process of building the car for him, so he can be on the road from April this year.

ANOTHER ZERO KIT IS COLLECTED FROM GBS..........

On Saturday we had Colin Goddard come and collect his Zero kit from the GBS Factory, he was very pleased with his kit and spent the rest of the weekend unloading the kit and getting familiar with the parts. Also GBS customer Matt Savage is making great progress with his Zero build which he is hoping to complete in the next couple of months.

Also today 18 year old Laurence Dalton from North Yorkshire bought his Zero to the GBS Factory for us to prepare and put through its IVA test. Laurence who is at college studying construction bought his Zero kit back in July 2011 , Laurence has spent many days with the GBS team in the workshop, getting build tips and advice, we are very impressed with his build which has been built to a very high standard. Laurence said he has really enjoyed building his Zero and feels it has been a great experience and has learnt alot, he is also really excited about getting his Zero on the road for the summer and is planning on joining us on a few track days later this year.

ANOTHER ZERO KIT IS COLLECTED FROM GBS..........

Today we had Manchester College come to GBS to collect their Zero kit which is going to be a build project for the college students. Just before Christmas they ordered the Zero kit and we had both staff and students from Manchester College come and spend the morning with us at the GBS factory, where they had a tour of GBS and spent time in the workshop with the GBS team getting advice and information about the Zero build process.
Also today GBS customer Jamie Burman came all the from Wales to drop his Zero off for us to prepare and put through the IVA test for him.

GBS ZERO KIT GETS TO NORWAY..........

Just before Christmas we sent a Zero kit to Norway, the customer has received the Zero kit and is delighted with it and can't wait to now get started with the build. Also our dealer in Holland has just confirm his first sale of the year of a Zero GT.
The GBS workshop team are busy working on a Robin Hood 2B that customer John Sands bought many years ago as a kit to build himself, but has never got around to completing it. So he asked us if we would finish the build for him, which we were more than happy to do and are enjoying the opportunity to build this Robin Hood 2B that is no longer available, photos of the build coming soon.......

ANOTHER GREAT TRACK DAY FOR GBS IN THE WET AGAIN...........

Over the Christmas break on Friday 30th December the Great British Sports Cars team attended a Track Day that was in conjunction with Javelin Track Days, at Mallory Park.
It was a enjoyable day and was great to see all the GBS Zero's and 2B that attended out on the track together, we had GBS customers come as far as Bristol for the day. We took with us our Zero Race which again performed extremely well especially in the wet conditions. It was also great to see lots of new and existing GBS customers that came along for the day to spectate many even had a ride in the Zero and were very impressed with its handling and performance.
It was also great to have one of our Australian dealers Terry Dale join us for the day, who very much enjoyed his ride in the GBS Zero, Terry is in the final stages of completing his Zero Build and has been up to see us again this week at the GBS factory to discuss more Zero kits and ideas.
Despite the rain everyone had a enjoyable day, and we are now looking forward to the next Track Day and Sprints which will be announced shortly.

Also this month GBS will be having a stand (stand number 19350) at the AutoSport International Show at the NEC Birmingham 12th -15th January, where the GBS Zero Race and Road Car will be on display. All other shows and events that GBS will be attending in 2012 will be available to see on the GBS Website.

Yesterday 2 Zero kits were collected that were exported to a dealer and customer in Sweden and Norway that will be delivered in time for Christmas as one of them is a Christmas Present. Also later this week another Zero kit is scheduled in to be collected that is going to a customer in Chilli. Last weekend we also delivered Ian and Staurt Harrisons Zero GT which we have put through the IVA test, now its all ready to be driven on the road, they also looking forward to doing some Track and Race days next year in their Zero.

MORE ZERO KITS ARE COLLECTED FROM GBS......

Earlier this week we had Nick Love and his wife come to the GBS Factory to collect their Zero kit, also last weekend Mark Walsh came over from Ireland to collect his Zero, Mark had a very long journey and not a lot sleep, but was really excited about getting his Zero kit in time for Christmas, his Zero is now all unpacked in his Garage ready for the build to begin.
Also today GBS Customer Chris Bingham came to collect his Zero that we have just put through its IVA test for him, Chris now looks forward to enjoying the Zero on the road.

GBS ZERO BUILDERS ARE GETTING YOUNGER.......

GBS Customer Matt Savage is in the process of building his Zero kit which is coming along nicely now, he plans to have it all completed and on the road for March next year and will be joining us on many of the track days next year.
Matt has had a little helper with him during his build, from his 3 year old son Jacob who is always in the garage helping with the car every chance he gets. Jacob calls it 'Daddys Racing Car and has told his teachers at pre school that his 'Daddy is a Racing Driver!!

Also 18 Year old Laurence Dalton from North Yorkshire is well on the way with his Zero kit build. Laurence joined us at the track day at Cadwell Park last weekend and really enjoyed being a passenger in the Zero, and is now keen to get his car finished and on the road and joining us at a few track days.

MORE ZERO KITS COLLECTED...............

Last week we had several Zero kits collected from GBS, Ray Moreton came to collect his Zero kit and Ian Kirkup also came to the Factory to collect his Zero which had been especially powder coated in Black and Yellow. A couple of weeks ago Steve Parker came to collect his Zero kit which the chassis had been customised to accommodate a motorbike engine for him.
Also now on the Road are two newly finished Zero's John Spencers and Ian and Stuart Harrison.

It was a enjoyable day and was great to see all 7 Zero's that attended out on the track altogether, we had GBS customers come as far as Great Yarmouth, Bristol and London for the day. GBS CUSTOMER DRIVES ZERO AROUND TOUR OF THE ALPS...........

One of our GBS Customers Tony Birkbeck who owns a Zero has sent us some stunning photographs of his tour of the Alps that he did back in June, he said 'It was an absolutely awesome 10 days and so much fun!'

Also last week GBS were exhibiting the Zero Race Chassis at the The Professional Motor Sport Show in Cologne Germany. It was a successful show with a lot interest shown in Zero. Show dates for 2012 that GBS will be attending will be announced soon.

GBS TRACK DAY CHANGE OF VENUE AND DATE......

On Saturday 26th November Great British Sports Cars were going to be attending a Track Day in conjunction with Javelin Track Days, at RAF Cottesmore Lincolnshire. Unfortunately due to the RAF returning the event has been cancelled. BEHIND THE SCENES OF POWDER COATING A ZERO CHASSIS........

A few weeks ago GBS went and followed the process of what is involved in Powder Coating a Zero Chassis. We offer Powder Coating as an optional extra, but highly recommend it as it protects the chassis and gives a superior finish to paint. At the GBS factory all Zero Chassis's have the welds flattered and prepped ready for the powder coat process to start. It was amazing to see the whole process from start to finish as you don't quite realise what is involved and the time it takes........

This week Great British Sports Cars have a stand at The Professional Motor Sport Show in Cologne Germany on the 15th, 16th and 17th November, where we are be displaying the Zero Race on our stand.

GBS Customer Trevor Jackman has sent us some photographs of his newly registered Zero which is now on the road. We are very impressed with Trevors build, he has also done a few of his own modifications which look great.
Also back in July we sent a Zero kit to GBS customer Dave Boff in New Zealand which is coming along nicely, it has just been powder coated and now they are starting to fix the panels, we look forward to seeing more photos of the build as it progresses.

This weekend Great British Sports Cars will be displaying the Zero at the Motor Sport UK Show in Coventry.
GBS Customer Andy Green now has his Zero on the road, we saw Andy at Exeter Kit Car Show a few weeks ago, his Zero looked very impressive. Also Jon Harris who is currently building a Zero Race has sent us some photographs of his build which looks like it is coming along nicely, Jon already has a standard Zero which he has built and recenlty passed its IVA test. Jon looks forward to joining us on a few track days when his Zero Race is complete.

We are pleased to announce that we have just produced some more new parts on our Hardinge CNC Lathe. We are now producing Polished Aluminium Gearknobs, Handbrake Leavers and Indicator Stalks these give your interior that finishing touch. The Gearknobs are now available from Kit Spares the Handbrake Leaver and Stalks will be available from next week.

Also GBS customer Dave Martin has sent us some photographs of his Zero build, looks like it is coming along nicely and is not too far of completion. We look forward to seeing it on the road very soon.

GBS & KIT SPARES HAD A GREAT WEEKEND AT EXETER KIT CAR SHOW......

Great British Sports Cars and Kit Spares had a very busy and successful weekend at Exeter Kit Car Show, it was a great weekend with alot of interest in the Zero. Also at the show it was great to see GBS customer Colin Squibb who has the first factory built zero GT that he collected from us back in August. He is delighted with the Zero and how it performs, Colin has also added a few personal touches to his Zero by painting the Bonnet and Scuttle top which we think makes the car look even more stunning.
At the show we also joined all the other exhibitors for a drink to say thank you to organiser John Cook who runs the Kit Car Show as he is now retiring. We would like to say thank you for all his help over the years and wish him an enjoyable retirement.

Its been a busy day at GBS today as well as getting ready for the show we have also had 2 Zero kits collected both Tommy and Liam from Ireland came to GBS to collect their Zero kits this afternoon.

ZERO PERFORMED WELL AT THE GBS SPRINT AT BLYTON.......

On Saturday we attended a Sprint at Blyton Park which we organised in conjunction with Javelin Track Days. It was a great day enjoyed by all, and the Zero got some impressive times. It was great to test the Zero's performance and handling and also to see other GBS customers enjoy the experience of the Zero on the circuit. GBS customer John Spencer took his newly registered Zero around and was overwhelmed with the performance and handling and can’t wait for the next event. We would like to thank Javelin Track Days for organising the day and we look forward to the next one. Also at GBS last week Peter Noble came to collect his Zero kit and at the weekend Sean McGill came to collect his Zero Kit which we had modified the chassis to accommodate an Audi engine.

STUDENT DOES WORK EXPERIENCE AT GBS...............

Last week we had Reece Kilduff with us for the week doing his work experience. Reece is a year 11 student from Tuxford Academy and has a keen interest in Motor sport. He spent the majority of the week in the workshop with the GBS team learning all about the cars and the mechanics. We enjoyed having him with us for the week and wish him every success in the future.

ANOTHER ZERO ON THE ROAD.............

GBS customer John Spencer has now completed his Zero build and earlier this week it passed its IVA test first time. John has really enjoyed building his Zero kit and can't wait to enjoy it on the open road now, and maybe start to build another Zero next year. Even John's daughter Hannah wants her car next but must be pink!!!

GBS'S HARDINGE CNC MACHINE PRODUCES MORE NEW PARTS..............

We have been producing Brake Discs on our new Hardinge CNC Lathe, the benefit of these are that the curved grooves clean the surface of the pad and allow gases produced to escape and improving the friction characteristics. This effects overall friction and improved bite or release of your brakes, the backward facing groves run out on outside diameter to clear debris. These will soon be available from Kit Spares.

Also Zero customer David Tough has sent us some photographs of his Zero build which by the look of it is coming along nicely and is not to far off completion.

We have been very busy designing and developing new products that have been manufactured on our new Hardinge CNC lathe. GBS ZERO DEMONSTRATOR GOES ON A ROAD TRIP.........

Last week one of the Directors of GBS Richard Hall took our Zero demonstrator to the Grand Prix in Monza, covering a total of 2600 miles going down to Monte Carlo and around the Grand Prix Circuit then up to Italy to Monza to watch the Grand Prix then returning back through Switzerland. The Zero performed really well and was fitted with the new GBS Plenum which gave brilliant fuel economy and performance, as well as being fitted with a few other prototype parts for testing and evaluation that will be making an appearance soon. Throughout the trip the Zero got a lot of attention and outshone many Ferrari's in Monaco.

CUSTOMER COLLECTS FACTORY BUILT ZERO............

Yesterday Colin Sqibb came to GBS to collect his Factory Built Zero, this was the first factory built Wide Bodied Zero to leave GBS. The Oxford Blue Zero was top spec with a 2L Zetec Engine, AT Power Throttle Bodies, Emerald ECU, Smiths Gauges, Pro Race Wheels, Stainless Steel side panels and Alloy bonnet. Colin was delighted with the Car and is now looking forward to enjoying the rest of the Summer with his new car.

ANOTHER ZERO KIT IS COLLECTED FROM GBS..........

Yesterday Matthew Fox-Spencer came to collect his Zero Starter Kit from us, also yesterday Jon Harris called us to say his first Zero kit had just passed its IVA test. Jon is now on his second Zero kit (Race Chassis), which he intends to build for track days and off road fun!!

Back in April Great British Sports Cars Zero went for a test at Mira using there extensive wind-tunnel and aerodynamic wind tunnel facilities. The Zero did incredibly well for a seven type car, helped by its splitter on the nose cone and diffuser. GBS ZERO GOES FOR TESTING DOWN AT EMERALD ON THE ROLLING ROAD.............

The GBS Zero has been down to Emerald in Norfolk for testing on some new products, the Zero was fitted with the standard 2L Zetec Engine and MT75 Gearbox. We did a back to back comparison on the same Zero with the Jenvey Throttle Bodies and the New GBS Plenum Chamber that we have just launched. The results exceeded all expectations for the GBS Plenum making it an extremely good option, the results were the Jenveys produced 176bhp at 6756rpm and 157.8lbft at 5205rpm the GBS Plenum produced 166bhp at 6509rpm and 143lbft at 5388rpm.

Last week a GBS factory built wide body Zero passed its IVA test, customer Colin Sqibb will be collecting his new Zero later this month.

On Sunday we attended a Sprint at RAF Barkston Heath which we organised in conjunction with Javelin Track Days. It was a great day enjoyed by all, and the Zero got some impressive times. It was great to test the Zero's performance and handling and also to see other GBS customers enjoy the experience of the Zero on the track. The Summer Open Day on Saturday at GBS was a great success. Again it was well attended with over 200 people attending throughout the day, test drives in the Zero demonstrator were very popular and the Hog Roast went down well. We are also very pleased to have also raised over £300 for charity, our chosen charities are Help the Hero's and Nottingham & Lincolnshire Air Ambulance.

The show was held on Saturday 18th June and was a great success raising approximately £3000 which is towards London Air Ambulance.

GBS & KIT KIT SPARES HAD A GREAT WEEKEND AT STONELEIGH KIT CAR SHOW........

We have just finished unpacking from an extremely busy and successful weekend at the Stoneleigh Kit Car Show. We had six cars at the show spread across two stands, including the newly designed Zero Race chassis, Zero Wide Body and three Zero customers cars Harris Adamopoulos, Graham Cole and Neil McCarthy Primett who kindly let us display their Zero Builds on our stands.
It was also great to see all the other Zero customers over the weekend and all the Robin Hood owners club members, who were camping over for the whole weekend with a great turn out of over 150 members attending.

ANOTHER ZERO PASSES THE IVA TEST...........

Last week Zero customer Graham Cole who bought his Zero back to GBS to prepare for its IVA Test has now passed, he is now getting it ready to take to Stoneleigh Kit Car Show this weekend.

Also over the weekend BHB Extreme borrowed the GBS Zero demonstrator and another factory built zero for the day. BHB Extreme took both Zero's out and got some video footage with their latest camera's. The video footage will be shown at Stoneleigh Kit Car Show on our stand over the weekend.

Last week we took a GBS factory built Zero to a car show in a North-East Leicestershire village, which hosts a massive car meeting - classics, vintage, motorbikes, supercars, sports cars each month during the summer. It is without doubt a great gathering, and we received alot of interest in the Zero.

ZERO GOES TO MIRA FOR A WIND TUNNEL TEST.............

Earlier this week the Great British Sports Cars Zero went for a test at Mira using there extensive wind-tunnel and aerodynamic wind tunnel facilities. The Zero did incredibly well for a seven type car, helped by its splitter on the nose cone and diffuser, some new parts were also tested which will soon be available which should further enhance the performance.

ZERO DEMONSTRATOR GOES ON A TRACK DAY……………

At the weekend we took the Zero demonstrator for a track day at Barkstone Heath. It was a great day and the performance from the Zero was excellent. I went around with both Richard and Keith who was a former rally driver and was amazed at his driving and the handling and speed of the Zero, I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next track day. GREAT DAY AT THE GBS OPEN DAY - 5th MARCH........

The open day on Saturday at GBS was a great success. It was well attended with over 200 people attending throughout the day, test drives in our Zero Demonstrator were very popular and were taking place all day despite the rain. People were also able to buy parts from our Kit Spares Shop.

We would like to thank you all for your support, and sorry that we weren't able to talk to everyone as it was that busy, but we look forward to seeing you all again soon. More photos of the day will be on the GBS website shortly (Were now planning the next GBS open day). The next show GBS will be attending will be Stoneleigh Kit Car Show in May.
